MISSION

I Stand With My Pack, ISWMP, is a non-profit organization providing global assistance to save the lives of animals and prevent suffering and cruelty. ISWMP’s domestic efforts focus on the successful removal of dogs from LA city, county and surrounding area high risk kill shelters, assisting them through the rehabilitative process and successfully placing them in their forever homes.

I Stand With My Pack, was founded in 2016 by Aleksandra Schiffer, after spending a decade working and volunteering in various International animal welfare organizations, which ultimately led to the formation of her own 501c organization, ISWMP an LA Based Animal 501c, non-profit organization.

“Senior dogs and medical dogs within shelter systems represent the highest population of animals at risk for humane euthanasia due shelter crowding and overpopulation. IN 2019, ISWMP added a goal to increase the number of High Risk animals to our rescue efforts. We are grateful for The Fusenot Foundation’s support which provided funds towards the rescue of additional Sr and Medical Dogs this year.”

Walter, a Foster's Love Story, has found his home.

Walter, A lot of you remember that special day when we rescued Walter. We fell in love with this senior and couldn’t bear a thought of him dying all alone at the shelter.

Walters body and face was covered in tumors and we were told that he wouldn’t live long but that didn’t discourage us from pulling him and giving him the best care we possibly could. After a few vet visits, several different medications, CBD oil, holistic medicine and lots of love from his amazing foster mom Cherie, Walter seemed to be doing better and then one day he collapsed and got us all really worried. The vets said that he doesn’t have a lot of time left but Walter proved them wrong once again and gained the strength to get back to his feet.

Walter took a cross country road trip around the US with Cherie, staying in fine hotels, sniffing with the best of other dogs, including Ohio Senator Brown’s dog Franklin and now Walter has found home.

Walter’s story reached many people and hopefully will serve as a reminder that all life is precious and worth fighting for. No matter how old or run down these animals are and no matter what a horrific start in their lives they had all they want to be is happy and loved in the moment, now.
